Every array produced by a heavy operation carries an SFStatus:

Three kinds of saturation count

Atreides v1 has no saturation flag the host can read back, so the library distinguishes what it knows from what it guesses.
The pre-flight range bound showed no element could saturate. The launch was marked safe and no scan ran.

Making it exact

Two options when you need a real count: Replay on the host. sf.config(status="replay") recomputes the events with the host reference after the launch. Exact, at the cost of doing the work twice.
A target with flags. A device whose run returns per-element event flags (sticky_flags=True) gives exact counts for free. atreides-flags is the mock that does this; with it, over="raise" applies to heavy ops like any other.

Host arrays

A host array has no status: x.status is None. Host operations report their events immediately through the policy instead.
